An experienced Building Performance Institute (BPI) professional will assess the various energy features of your home. We will perform tests such as a Blower Door Test: (which determines the level of outside air infiltration into the conditioned space of your home) and a Duct Blaster Test (which assesses the level of energy leakage through your duct system before it reaches its assigned location), followed by specific recommendations to eliminate the energy loss! We will then discuss detailed findings in accordance with your concerns and needs. Some will be simple fixes, effective, costing little, while others may involve some expense, but in turn generate significant energy savings. Economic feasibility will be evaluated and discussed. Typically, a 30 -50% energy saving can be achieved by cutting air infiltration, improving insulation, and sealing ducts. Further improvements can be made by installing new windows, upgrading HVAC equipment, or purchasing renewable energy systems such as a solar thermal water heater, and or photovoltaic panels.
